I grew up in the world of fabrics, tending to my mom's boutique while young. While much of my inspiration is grounded in India, I currently reside in Austin, Texas. Looking for opportunities to learn and grow.
(Psst ... I'm a US resident so no sponsorship needed)
Samesisters is the heart of my creative expression. My designs range from doll-like and pink to those without feminine connotations, often breaking free from traditional styles. In this portfolio, you’ll find several collections under this brand—each a reflection of my unfiltered, experimental vision. Enjoy the ride.
Roja was my answer to the saturated market of bright, heavily embellished Indian occasion wear. I designed subtle, minimalist pieces featuring embossed rose motifs that were elegant and perfect for those who prefer simplicity over extravagance.
Developed a unique embossed quilting technique, overseeing every step from initial design to material sourcing and final production.
I grew up immersed in my mother’s boutique, watching her build relationships with vendors and create traditional occasion wear. I eventually started bringing my own vision into the business, experimenting with Western silhouettes suited for the Indian body type.
Managed sourcing and backend operations while collaborating with vendors and artisans, developing strong relationships and an understanding of the full production process.
Designing for celebrities like Sanya Malhotra, Guneet Monga (director of The Elephant Whisperers), and Kusha Kapila (fashion reality TV judge) helped elevate my brand and visibility. Each project required me to capture their individual styles for high-profile events.
Coordinated with stylists and handled all aspects of custom designs, from fittings to final adjustments, ensuring timely delivery under high-pressure deadlines.
I wanted to modernize the traditional salwar kameez for my generation by breaking it down into versatile pieces that can be worn separately. This collection gave me the chance to explore fresh concepts and make something that felt new and exciting, keeping tradition alive in a modern way.
Managed the entire process from concept to production, selecting fabrics, overseeing embroidery, and ensuring each piece met my vision.
Inspired by the rise of athleisure and my love for vintage saris, I created a small collection that blended these two worlds. Each piece was one-of-a-kind, combining the beauty of traditional silk saris with a modern, casual aesthetic.
Led the design process from sourcing vintage fabrics to creating unique designs, ensuring each piece aligned with evolving market trends.
This collection is a thread to the past. I've always been drawn to vintage styles of old, and I wanted to incorporate those looks into something refreshing for the modern era, for the experimenters and the bold ones.
For both a regional film and a play, I dove into the characters’ worlds, using my understanding of fabrics and local culture to build wardrobes that added depth to the storytelling. Every piece was designed to feel authentic and reflective of the characters' lives.
Worked directly with the director and actors, sourced fabrics and accessories, and conducted fittings to ensure the designs fit the narrative and characters.
